How To Find A Skate Filmer

How To Piss Me Off When I'm Filming
How To Find A Skate Filmer

In a subculture now grabbing the attention of the masses, and the likes of people like Hilfiger, a spike in participants has been more or less noticeable. Needless to say, the role of needing someone to document all this progression in the industry is rudimentary. Below is a comprehensive guide for you to navigate through so you can find your own filmer to document you, "stack these mf clips dawg!" No longer will you need to ask your friend to film you only to realize they were recording on time-lapse mode the entire time.

Finding a skate filmer is a very subtle art. Many do's and don'ts. First of all you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing. I highly suggest going to your local park and starting your scouting there. If you notice anyone filming with anything besides a GoPro, make sure to compliment them. For example, if said person is filming with a VX, make sure to cut them off while they are filming lines, and try to get in the background of everything. Absolutely, make sure to throw your gang signs up in the background and make obnoxious noises as well, preferably those that are animal related with a guttural tone. If you still have not grabbed the filmer's attention, make sure to say the following words, "VX is dead HD is better!" However, if the filmer is seen with a DSLR or HVX, make sure to say, "HD looks like shit, VX forever!" Needless to say, flipping them the bird is the final cherry needed to convince them you truly want to film with their crew.

After they pummel you senseless as part of their initiation, you can rest assured that you're definitely one of the crew. Proceed to follow them from spot to spot, if they throw snide remarks at you it's because they are testing you, do not fall for this. As you're filming at the spot make sure to take 2-5 minutes intervals where you complain about how your current song isn't pumping you up. Make sure to take your time in picking different songs that have a 50/50 chance of putting you in the right mindset. It would be useless and borderline disrespectful to skate without headphones because the key is to make the filmer wait in the blistering sun. Another tactic, my favorite, is to make the filmer wait for you because you are snapchatting a girl(who could not care less) about how you are about to try a really cool trick. Another method to add some spiciness to the filming process is to instigate arguments with pedestrians and fight with cops to the point where the filmer is afraid the cop will actually do something. If things get boring for you at the spot make sure to do the mature thing and instead of asking if we can leave, call the cops so they can bust you for skating at the spot. This will show the filmer that you're serious about your future career and are a selfless person looking out for everyone else.

The day has ended and you got your clip from your filmer. Overall, this should be the end to a good day, but why settle for good when you can have great. When you get the clip from your filmer and they explicitly say, "Do not post this on the web." What they are implying is that they feel unappreciated and would like to get an insta-bump. Immediately post your clip to Instagram and make sure not to tag them so that your filmer can find a spicy surprise on their timeline. When they text you a barrage of questions like, "Why did you post that?" or my personal favorite, "I explicitly told you not to post that." Make sure to answer in only one worded texts. The appropriate response to messages similar to these would fall under something like, "LOL" or "So".

Finding someone to film you can be really rewarding, and is something that is not as hard as it seems. If for some strong reason they refuse to skate with you again, do not fret, because in this growing community, there will always be someone else you can compliment, make wait, and lovingly defy.
